The New South Wales Waratah (Telopea Speciosissima) is apart of the Proteaceae family and is well-known as the NSW state emblem. Native to south-east Australia, this Waratah is characterised by it's striking scarlet flowerhead - each of which contains hundreds of smaller flowers! It's also a popular source of food for pygmy possums and honeyeater birds.
